Have you all started making sweets and savories for Christmas??

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

It's mind boggling how just couple of days back at this time I was making preparations for Thanksgiving. Travelling and enjoying every moment with my family. And now I am fully focused on Christmas. My house is decorated inside with red green and gold and beautiful lights. We're still working on decorating the outside and Ive got a list of things to do before Christmas. Im also getting ready for the 'palagaram exchange' (Cookie exchange) next week. I also have planned a wonderful time with our family - Sandiego here we come!

I am determined though, as the Christmas season rolls on, to remember what its all about - the birth of Jesus - and to not get caught up in all thefrenzy. If my palagaram doesnt turn out the best, oh well. If someone doesn't like what I am wearing, So what? That's their problem. And as far as gifting goes, I am going to give those who are in need and be there for those who are lonely and alone during this season. I pledge not to go crazy over materialism. This isn't important people!

Let's turn our eyes to the reason why we are doing all this in the first place. It's because Jesus was born and he died on the cross for us and he rose again. We should spend the season being thankful for him and for all that he has done for us.  Remember to ask "What Would Jesus Do?" during this season. Rejoice and enjoy the season in Him.

Well heres a yummy and simple recipe that you can enjoy with your family during this season!

Crafts and kids

The most obvious benefit of doing arts and crafts is that the activity promotes creativity. Creativity engages a number of mental processes, such as problem solving, idea generation, and comprehension. Making something from raw material also comes with considerable personal rewards and a sense of accomplishment.Creative actions serve to increase self-awareness and promote self-acknowledgment.

One of the most important developmental phases for children is that time when they begin to master basic motor skills and eye-hand coordination. Art builds up physical co-ordination. Activities like painting, drawing, coloring, cutting, joining and gluing things together to form a new object improve motor coordination in children.

While plenty of craft projects are flexible enough to allow children to explore their ingenuity, most of them involve a set of instructions that must be followed in order to produce the final product.

Crafts are fun and instructional for children. Having fun is a cornerstone of childhood, and its value should never be discounted when coming up with interesting activities for children to explore.

Perseverance is regularly stated as the single most important quality for any successful business person, sportsman, professional or individual.Fortunately, arts and craft improve everyone's perseverance. Kids learn to keep trying until they finish any task. And if something goes wrong... they simply persist by trying new ways and means. This is a good way for kids to learn patience and to understand that sometimes it takes work to achieve a positive final result.

Similar to having perseverance, developing concentration is probably the second best quality any successful individual can have. Arts and craft will definitely teach your child to focus on one specific task at hand... ignoring other distractions. In short, concentration will definitely improve.

Heres a little something that my kids created when i gave them a plain piece of printing paper. inst it cute:)

Benefits of Naval oranges

The antioxidant vitamin C is a main nutritional ingredient of navel oranges.  Other nutrients in navel oranges are also known to help to prevent cancer as well, such as stomach and esophagus cancer.  The high fiber content in navel oranges can help improve cholesterol ratios in the body, which is important in controlling diabetes.
Beta-carotene is another antioxidant found in navel oranges which helps prevent cell damage.  Navel oranges also contain calcium, which promotes strong, healthy bones and vitamin B6 to boost production of hemoglobin in the bloodstream. The high potassium content in navel oranges helps maintain the balance of electrolytes in cells, and its magnesium helps keep blood pressure at an acceptable level.

1 Thessalonians

Paul writes this letter to the church he began in Thessalonica, shortly after leaving them and being unable to return. He is excited about their Christian faith, reminds them of his intense love for them, and answers questions about what death means for a Christian. As you read this book, find comfort as a believer that when you die yo will still be under Gods care and will be with the Lord forever.

Paul writes this letter to the church in the Colosse at about the same time as he writes Ephesians. False teachers are deceiving some of those to whom he writes. Therefore, Paul stresses the power and glory of Christ and instructs his readers on how to live as Christians. As you read this book, put your faith in this glorious Savior who died for you, and promise him that you will show Christian love and compassion to others.

Paul writes this letter to the church he started in Philippi. Even though he is in prison, he feels happy when he thinks of what Christ means to him and of what the Philippians are doing for him. He gives some very practical advice on how to live the Christian life. S you read this book, remember always to rejoice in the Lord and to be content, whatever the circumstances.
