GOD is Gracious, Active and Loving

The Pulley

From Sam:

I AM A NATIVE OF Chennai, Southern India currently residing in Toronto, Canada. I am a mosaic of eastern and western experiences and worldviews engulfed in Christian values. THIS BLOG IS MY ATTEMPT to be vocal about the things that matter the most to me. I love Christ (for saving me and revealing GOD to me), His Church (imperfect, yet beautiful, that accompanies me in my journey), GOD's infallible word (It refreshes me, brings clarity and perspective to my life and invites me into GOD's active work in the here and now) and my unpredictable life (which I believe is part of GOD's bigger story that is being told in our generation for His glory and fame).

Ducky Ice Cream!!

Ice cream ducky by my lil tots!!!!

The day of Judgement!

The most well-known Biblical figure bearing the name Zephaniah is the son of Cushi, and great-grandson of Hezekiah,The name Zephaniah means "Yahweh hides" or "Yahweh has hidden." It may mean that he was hidden from the attrocities of the ruler at that time.The major message of this book is The Day of the Lord --- a day of judgment. It is viewed as a day of terror, as one which will fall upon all creation as a judgment for sin. It is a grim picture of destruction, but out of it will come a remnant. "It is a day of deliverance for those of us who have accepted Jesus and have followed the word.

What do I need to do to be saved from this destruction?
  • I need to wait on God (3:8). He will right the wrongs and restore the righteous. I just want to be sure I'm counted among the righteous. Therefore....
  • I need to “Seek the Lord” (2:3) This means that my number one goal in life is to know God - to have an intimate relationship with him.
  • I need to be humble (2:3b). This involves self denial. Vertical and horizontal - which leads to the next requirement.
  • I need to obey God’s ordinances (2:3) = love my neighbor.

Crimson Blood

Easter Eggs

Easter Means Eternal Life

A perfect God demands a perfect justice;
He cannot let us get away with sin.
We used God’s gift of our free will to trespass,
So heaven’s gates were closed; we couldn’t get in.

Our sin required our blood, a sacrifice,
To atone for all the wrongs that we had done.
"But I love them!" cried our Father, filled with sorrow;
"I’ll send my only Son to be the one."

Good Friday marks the slaying of our Jesus,
The unblemished lamb, the perfect sacrifice.
He took our guilt and blame upon Himself,
So we could be with Him in paradise.

On Easter morning, he came back from death;
He vanished from the tomb, the empty grave.
His resurrection means eternal life
For us, the ones he came to earth to save.

This summarizes all the Easter story
And because of it, we’ll be with Him in glory.

Honest questions about injustice
The nation of Judah faces a time of turmoil and struggle because of persistent sin. The king terrorizes God’s prophets and encourages idolatry. Habakkuk worries about his nations spiritual decline and calls out to god, wondering if god is listening and if God will put an end to the injustice (Hab 1). But the message Habakkuk receives troubles him.
The first oracle is a dialogue between the prophet and God—asks how God can remain silent when the wicked prosper. God's reply is to assure the prophet that his purposes will not fail though they seem long in coming to pass. The second oracle is an indictment of the arrogant and rapacious. In the third oracle Habakkuk praises God, ultimately understanding the sovereign plan of God.
