The beginning of Mathew explains the geneology of Christ and tells us about the fulfilment of the prophecy that Jesus would come from the line of David. It also explains the love and compassion that Joseph had for his wife. The book of Mathew has detailed information about His brith, His life, death and resurrection. We can also read about his Baptism by John the Baptist and how He chose His disciples. We can also see the most amazing miracles in this book and how many were drawn to the truth. This is the book about the Agape Love that changes the heart of men and turns it towards Him. A book that has captivated the hearts of many and will continue to do the same until He returns.

Craft, Songs, Books {Alphabet D}

Quack Quack Quack!!!
After our Prayer time we made some fun craft. We made a collage of a duck pond with different colored paper. Then we sang the song five little ducks went out one day.....  I found the video on you tube . Yaay now its time for coloring... oh yes they had loads of fun coloring their pages.I got these work sheets from here. Sharon practices writing her alphabets everyday!

We then enjoyed reading the book, The ugly duckling. We then talked about the letter Dd. They learned that Duck,Dog,Drumstick start with the letter D.They stuck the pictures and made a lapbook on the characteristics of Ducks. We made a chart about the life cycle of a Duck. For the science table we made a small project. We learned about the ducks nests and we made a ducks nest using mud, glue, straw, twigs etc.We went to the ducky pond and had loads of fun.The activity time is a very special time. Hubby usually joins us on these small trips and the kids are super excited and tell their dad what they did and what they learned. We love this time together as family. After we come back the kids draw in their journal. Sharon drew the life cycle of a duck in her journal.

Bed time story: Quack Quack (Baby touch and feel) Jason picked this book for today and they really liked it.

Chinese Lantern

Grow Chinese Lantern in full sun. They will do well in average soils.  If growing as a perennial, select a sunny location where they can grow for years.
Sow seeds early in the season and cover lightly with 1/4" soil. Final spacing of plants should be 18-20" apart.
Water plants during dry periods. Add a general purpose fertilizer once or twice a season.
Once your Chinese Lantern are established, they will grow well and bloom until frost.

Totally looking forward for it to bloom :)

Harem Pants!

The Book of Malachi is an oracle: The word of the Lord to Israel through Malachi (1:1). This was God’s warning through Malachi to tell the people to turn back to God. As the final book of the Old Testament closes, the pronouncement of God’s justice and the promise of His restoration through the coming Messiah is ringing in the ears of the Israelites. Four hundred years of silence ensues, ending with a similar message from God’s next prophet, John the Baptist, proclaiming, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near” (Matthew 3:2).

Malachi wrote the words of the Lord to God’s chosen people who had gone astray, especially the priests who had turned from the Lord. Priests were not treating the sacrifices they were to make to God seriously. Animals with blemishes were being sacrificed even though the law demanded animals without defect (Deuteronomy 15:21). The men of Judah were dealing with the wives of their youth treacherously and wondering why God would not accept their sacrifices. Also, people were not tithing as they should have been (Leviticus 27:30, 32). But in spite of the people’s sin and turning away from God, Malachi reiterates God’s love for His people (Malachi 1:1-5) and His promises of a coming Messenger (Malachi 2:17–3:5).

Craft:  Carrot - stamp picture frame.

Materials :
Acrylic paints
Paper towels

Instructions :
With a pencil etch a flower shape into the cut surface, then carve out the surrounding carrot with a knife. And stamp away :)

Singing and story time: We sang the song 'A fuzzy caterpillar'

A fuzzy caterpillar wiggled down a tree.
He wiggled long, he wiggled short, he wiggled right at me.
I put him in a box. "Don't go away," I said.
But when I looked again I saw a butterfly instead.
Now I could never make one, even if I tried.
Cause only God in Heaven, can make a butterfly.

We also read the book - Caterpillar to butterfly by Deborah Heiligman, Illustrated by Bari Weissman.Check it out here.

Coloring: Sharon and Jason loooooove coloring......every time I give them these sheets they are gleaming with joy!!! Oh how I wish I was a kid again..... enjoying all the simple pleasures each

Science: We planted the cherry pits and kept them on our science table.

Naval oranges!

  • Orange trees prefer deep, well-drained soil. These trees do not tolerate heavy or clay-filled soils for extended periods of time

  • Plant the tree in full sun at least 12 feet from the nearest large structure.

  • Dig a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball of the tree and a few inches deeper than the pot containing the tree. Place the tree in the hole and backfill soil onto the roots. Water thoroughly to help bottom roots establish.

  • It usually takes about three years after transplanting for trees to bear any good fruit.

Zechariah emphasized that God has used His prophets to teach, warn and correct His people. Unfortunately, they refused to listen. Their sin brought God's punishment. The book also bears evidence that even prophecy could be corrupted. History shows that in this period prophecy fell into disfavor among the Jews, leading to the period between the Testaments when no lasting prophetic voice spoke to God's people.

The Book of Zechariah teaches that salvation may be obtained by all. The last chapter depicts peoples from all over the world coming to worship God, who desires that all people follow Him. This is not the doctrine of universalism, i.e., that all people would be saved because it is God's nature to save. Rather, the book teaches that God desires that all people worship Him and accepts those who do, regardless of their national or political expressions, as in the freeing of Judah and Jerusalem from their political enemies. Finally, Zechariah preached that God is sovereign over this world, any appearance to the contrary notwithstanding. His visions of the future indicate that God sees all that will happen. The depictions of God's intervention in the world teach that ultimately He will bring human events to the end He chooses. He does not eliminate the individual's freedom to follow God or rebel, but holds people responsible for the choices they make. In the last chapter, even the forces of nature respond to God's control.
